Choosing the Right Blanket Storage Bag Size

One of the most common challenges for retailers and wholesale buyers stocking transparent blanket storage bags is selecting the right size range. Order too small, and bags won’t close properly or will look overstuffed on the shelf. Order too large, and you’ll have excess bag material that looks untidy and wastes packaging cost.

Understanding Blanket Types & Their Storage Requirements

Different blanket categories have distinctly different storage volume requirements when folded. Here’s how they map to our standard size range:

Black backpack on a floor.

Small (40×50 cm) — Throw Blankets & Baby Blankets

Best suited for lightweight acrylic or cotton throw blankets, baby blankets, and travel-size fleece items. A standard throw blanket folded to thirds fits comfortably in a Small bag with room for a care label and visual presentation.

Medium (50×60 cm) — Single-Bed Blankets

The most popular size for single-bed cotton and synthetic blankets. If you’re a retailer stocking general-purpose blankets in the 150×200 cm range, Medium is your workhorse size. It accommodates a standard fold without overstretching the zipper.

Large (60×75 cm) — Double-Bed & Thick Blankets

When blankets increase in weight or thread count — as with wool blends or heavy cotton blankets — a Large bag gives the necessary volume without forcing the zipper. Also ideal for double-bed synthetic blankets in the 180×220 cm range.

XL (70×90 cm) — Comforters & Sherpa Blankets

Comforters and sherpa-lined blankets are significantly loftier when folded. XL bags are designed for this — the generous dimensions allow the product to breathe slightly while the heavy-duty dual zipper maintains a secure closure.

XXL (80×100 cm) — King-Size & Export Packs

For king-size comforters, quilted blankets, or bulk-packed gift sets, XXL provides maximum capacity. Exporters who pack two standard blankets together in a single retail unit also prefer the XXL for its reinforced base panel.

Tips for Wholesale Buyers

  • Always test-fold your blanket range in a sample bag before placing bulk orders
  • If you sell blankets in multiple weights or thicknesses, consider ordering across two adjacent sizes
  • For retail shelf display, a bag that is about 80-85% full looks more premium than one that is forced shut
  • Request samples from us in any size before committing to a bulk order
